I don't think Verge is simply pushing to be the main cryptocurrency for the porn industry; I think that Verge is trying to be one of the main currencies used for any and all global markets. The partnership with PornHub means that Verge can be used, as a currency, with millions of potential PornHub customers. So, with that potential useage, Verge can become a true competitor to fiat, as a currency. Too many cryptocurrencies have no real-world uses, and their current prices are based on speculators trading in the markets. I think that Verge could easily be used in other markets (see the current petition to have Verge be used within Spotify). The ability to have both public and relatively-private transactions is a huge advantage for Verge. Also, the porn industry may not be morally acceptable to you (I have problems with the industry), but if you use dollars or euros... then you're already using currencies that have financed porn.
