Will's Vegan Recipe - Golden Sun (Vegan) Oatmeal

The Golden Sun Vegan Oatmeal is one of my favorite vegan meals. It is not intended to be a 'light' vegan meal, but something a little more hearty and wholesome.

This recipe makes one serving.

Some Nutrition Facts (for the Core Ingredients)

  • 655 Calories
  • 20g Protein
  • 108% of your D.V. of Omega-3

Core Ingredients

  • Oatmeal (1/2 to 3/4 Cup)
  • 1 Banana (sliced)
  • 1/4 Cup of Blueberries
  • 1/4 Cup of unsalted, raw Almonds
  • 1 -2 Tbsp of Flax Seeds (this is an affiliate link to my favorite brand. Should you purchase it, I will receive a small commission)
  • about 1 Tbsp of Turmeric
  • dash of Cinnamon

Optional

  • Vegan Protein Powder for an extra protein kick
  • 1/4 Cup of Sunflower Seeds for a higher dose of calories
  • Mix in your favorite Vitamin D3 supplement to give it the power of the sun. My favorite is This one (Note: This is an Amazon affiliate link. Should you purchase it, I will receive a small commission)
  • Grab a handful of Fortified Wheat Cereal (to take advantage of the variety of vitamins it contains)... crumble it up in your hands and sprinkle into your oatmeal.

To cook, follow the directions of making oatmeal with water as you would normally, but you're going to want to throw in most of the ingredients in with it. The only thing I mix in last are the blueberries, D3, and/or Protein Powders. Enjoy!

I can't go a morning without oatmeal. I have never thought of adding my vitamin D to it. ☀️ Does it affect the taste?

D3 tastes bad on it's own (imo) but mixed into the oatmeal, you can't really taste it!
