RE: Veganism - Another Perspective - Why should I care?

in #vegan7 years ago (edited)

Factory farming practices can be horrible and need to be looked at. That said, humans are omnivores and veganism is not all sunshine and roses. There are plenty of instances of people having to abandon the diet because they become unhealthy long term. Staying on a vegan diet requires supplementation. Predation is a part of nature, and vilifying our heritage of hunting is short sighted . I have no problem with people choosing a vegan diet, but I take issue with using fake science to promote it. Cholesterol and dietary fat from meat causing heart disease has not only been thoroughly disproven, it doesn't even pass the test of common sense. I reversed all of my health problems by going to a ketogenic diet. I would also remind you that more animals have been killed by habitat destruction from grain farming than will ever be accomplished by ethical hunting. You presented your information respectfully, and I have decided for myself. Current science does not support your claims and I'm not interested in a food religion.
