Do vegans 'force' their opinions on others?

Vegans and vegetarians are often [wrongly] accused of forcing their opinions on others, when nothing could be further from the truth.

Carnists are the ones forcing their opinions on the animals, by purchasing meat and animal products from the supermarket. Animals are forced into slaughterhouses and executed against their will due to market demand from meat eaters.

Vegans and vegetarians do not force their opinions on meat eaters any more than the abolitionists forced their opinions onto slave owners. The slave owners were the ones forcing their will onto the slaves, and the abolitionists were trying convince them to set the slaves free.

What an upside down world we live in, eh?

P.S. If you're terrified at the thought of a technologically advanced race of beings rearing and slaughtering humans for food, you should reconsider rearing and slaughtering animals for food. What goes around usually comes back around.

Sort:

I eat mostly plant based diet, mostly because I believe it's healthier. I never preach it to anyone else though.

When you become vegan... not plant based you learn to stand up for the voiceless and wonder how you could ever be so barbaric

...and I never try to convert others to eat meat or get aggressive and insulting, as this poster did. I responded to his tone and photo - but I did not flag him.

You were downvoted and reported for falsely accusing me of murder/manslaughter, you sick, degenerate, fuck.

Vegans are angry cause so many are blind to the pain and torture that humans cause on any other being on this beautiful planet

Instead of trying to change the world to suit your self, you should learn to be tolerant of other peoples views.

What about the views of the animals that are slaughtered and tortured everyday? If no one stands up for them than the pain and suffering of trillions of animals goes on.

I understand that you are a very emotional person but you have to realize that many people are not so emotional and don't really care about killing animals. it doesn't bother them and nobody is ever going to change that. Humans will never ever stop eating animals, sorry to break it to you.

Is this serious? Vegans/vegetarians are among the most obnoxious people on the planet. I have yet to meet one who has a live-and-let-live mentality. They seem to be on a mission to "convert" the whole planet.

And you analogy with slavery is weak at best. You would had Inuits die of starvation? Humans condemned to back-breaking earth tilling?

I have yet to see one carnivore not want to kill other beings for no real reason other than taste buds.

When you become vegan you also become the voice of the voiceless and you learn you have to stand up for all the beings that are killed everyday for no reason

Biologically speaking, we are OMNIvore, not HERBIvore. The "reason" we "kill" animals is because we're made this way. Completely cutting off meat from your diet will likely make you miserable from a lack of saturated fat, and a likelihood of all sorts of other deficiencies

Biologically speaking, we are FRUGIvore, not omnivore. Have you ever wondered why heart disease, type 2 diabetes and other chronic illnesses are so rampant in our society? It is largely due to INCORRECT diet.

Educate yourself.

There are MILLIONS of healthy vegans and vegetarians living all over the world, some including world class athletes such as Venus and Serena Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Patrick Baboumian, Novak Djokovic, Carl Lewis, David Haye, and Nick and Nate Diaz, all much fitter and stronger than the average bacon-loving meat eater.

It is scientifically proven that humans do not need to eat meat to survive (or thrive), therefore it is safe to conclude that you eat animals for no other reason than momentary taste pleasure and convenience. The sooner you are willing to admit that to yourself, the better.

Fruitarian-Humans.jpg

Why those diseases? Insulin resistance, i.e. too much carb. And if we're frugivore, why can't we digest fibers like herbivores, and our stomach acidity is closer to a carnivore's?

Of COURSE we don't "need" meat to survive. But unless your meatless diet has enough saturated fat, you WILL die before, say, a clean keto eater

Carnists do not abide by 'live-and-let-live'. You kill other creatures for taste pleasure. Why don't you leave the animals alone? What have they ever done to harm you? Why don't you let the animals 'live'?

Vegans are the ones who truly live by the 'live-and-let-live' principle. Your lifestyle is sustained by death.

You claim to be libertarian yet you do not extend the non-aggression principle to animals. Why not?

NAP: Do not initiate violence against non-aggressors. The animals you eat have never aggressed upon you, so why not just leave them alone?

If you can show me clear examples of how to get the EXACT SAME nutrition with plants (omega-3 the can be easily absorbed like marine sources, saturated fats, proteins the body can absorb), I might consider it. But know that our stomachs are closer to carnivores' with its acidity and structure

Our stomachs are nothing like a carnivores'. They have much shorter intestines and their stomach is much HIGHER in acidity, which makes it easier for them to digest meat. Carnivores and omnivores also have no problem eating raw meat.

Watch The Game Changers on Netflix, or head to www.nutritionfacts.org

You mean the vegan propaganda video? Also, our stomach are considered acidic. Yes, not like a wolf's, but nothing like a cow's.

Watch this interesting rebuke:

Oh yes, I read about you recently, you and your wife were found guilty of murdering your child because you forced it to be a vegan and it starved/died, because the organs of small children need meat and the fat in it.

I understand how guilty you must be feeling and therefore your need to rant at us - but honestly, that is a bit much, we had nothing to do with the death of your child.

Instead of pampering your own ego and virtue signalling, why don't you examine how come it is YOU exist. If throughout our evolution we had followed your dictates, we would have been, like all herbivores, stupid, animals perfect for feeding our cousins the chimps, who do hunt and eat meat.

It is sad how you think - I bet if you needed to feed a lion, you would insist it only eats veggies!!!

At least you can eat your veggie burgers and soya and grow breasts. Good luck to you.

Downvoted and reported.

This is one uneducated answer.

I at least provided some facts - the poster only gave emotional and insulting comments - and now I see you follow in his footsteps, how educated of you to reply with an emotional answer instead of attempting to make a reasoned argument.

I think I've had enough of both of you, so I am muting you both.

You try to pin point vegan as the problem yet being vegan means standing up for the voiceless and the fact that you say feeding children a plant based diet is wrong yet it is ok in you eyes to feed a fucking dead animal or the fact that 90% the north American diets is all chemicals and antibiotics
