It's been a while since I wrote, but thanks to fellow vegan @robertgenito, Inspired by his post on one of my favorite wonderful fruits, the humble yet robust Watermelon, here I am :) - I did do a post with 30 Benefits to a Raw Vegan Diet already.
Though fruit's been a major (about 50%) part of my diet for a number of years now, and I like to explain to people the health benefits of eating a lot of fruit instead of processed junk, there were some surprising facts in this post that really surprised me and gave me even more ammo to argue for my cause of eating more whole foods and less dead animal carcuses and factory made garbage that are staples of the Standard American Diet.
Enough Protein to go Around
I knew watermelon had protein. That's a simple attack the ignorant use against any vegan diet is "where do you get your protein bro?", well as a matter of fact all fruit has protein! Even something like watermelon [7% protein], and pineapple [4% protein] as two easy examples.
As you can see, just 1,400 kCalories worth of watermelon has 30g of protein! A level I think is enough for a normal person's daily consumption. These high protein recommendations (remember the FDA doesn't even have a recommended protein level) are exaggeratingly wrong, and even dangerous - decreasing the lifespan of many body builders.
Here's a vegan with much experience experimenting with diets of high fat, high protein and high carb doing more pushups than another vegan who emphasizes protein.

Still don't think 30g is enough? Watch SixPackAbs.com explain a study showing there was no difference in muscle building for people consuming 0.61g of protein per kG of body weight vs those consuming twice as much. And remember, these are body builders! If you're not a body builder do you even need to worry about protein at all?. This amount would be around 30g for a small vegan at 120lb and just 40g for someone 160lb.

The only difference elementally (literally) between Carbohydrates, Fats and Protein is that protein has Nitrogen whereas fat/carbs only have carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Proteins are more complex and harder to digest. It's also common sense that protein needs to be broken down and restructured before it can even be made into muscle. What do you think is better for you, the original building blocks of amino acids or your body having to breakdown fully structured proteins i.e. animal protein especially? - I was glad to learn in (@robertgenito) post that watermelons "are a complete protein--containing all of the essential amino acids necessary for human protein synthesis."
In conclusion, I'd like you to remember this one, there is no protein deficinecy. Look at human breastmilk which is less than 1% protein by weight and only 7% of calories, making it about equivalent to the amount in fruit!
No Deficiencies come from Being Raw Vegan!
In addition to getting enough protein, there is no scientific proof that you'll be deficient of anything on a raw vegan diet. I think where most people doubt it is just because they don't know anyone in their life's who are raw vegan...yeah because in the Western Lifestyle it's hard to turn down all the choices! So almost no one can be that strict until they need to be to cure a drastic health condition such as cancer.

I wish we could convince all the naysaying hardcore omnivores in one fell swoop but we can't. Instead, information runs slow (but the trend is there) and we're fighting the battle of people overeating on convenient food. For those ready to take the plunge, I recommend checking out the official source of one of the most popular healthy diets these days is called the 80/10/10rv or 80-10-10 Raw Vegan Diet which stands for getting your daily calories as 80% carbs, 10% protein and 10% of fat.

And in fact, there's significant evidence from human experiments that you are healthier and plentiful as a raw vegan. These human experiments are the many, many individuals eating raw who have made it past their detox stages. Great article, and I love the "TL;DW" part :) "too long, didn't write", right? xD
I've wanted to try a raw vegan diet, but haven't gone around to it yet. I've been vegan for nearly 2 years so it's time to try it out for a few weeks or months. Just got to plan out the best ways to get my calories.
Nice, you've already prepped yourself. I was mostly vegan for 3 years before doing the fully raw experiment. Oh it was the best I've felt in my whole life; which is weird to why I haven't done it again yet until recently.
When your body's clean enough your calorie requirements actually go down; i think thats a good explanation why FullyRawKristina has actually gained a significant amount of weight from what she used to look like. She cleansed all the bad and now her body has nothing to do with the extra calories except store it; maybe that and all the gourmet dessert dishes she does ;)

I switched from a life-long Mediterranean/North African diet to raw vegan for 6 months.
The story that unfolded by doing that has changed my life completely.
I lived off seeds, so it doesn't necessarily support the fruitarian direction, however I thought I should say something.
The benefit for me that I wish everyone could experience, was the ability to think clearer, it was a distinct phenomenon that I could not ignore during my adventures.
My initial motivation for doing it was to test survival capabilities surviving on seeds alone.
By the end, I can confirm it's true that you can survive, however, life gets new meaning, and survival becomes a distant low priority!
Yes I definitely had improved memory, I was way sharper than any person around me.

A detox doctor that talks down on fruits? Seriously? Check out Dr. Robert Morse. He's much more popular for a reason. As a fruitarian that knows many other fruitarians... this Dr L Wilson guy doesn't know jack about fruit. I'd say he's a fool, but it's a little stronger than that...he's blind, and only needs to open his eyes...

I read the article. That still doesn’t take away from my point that Keto and vegan are both crap options when dealing with diabetes. They both still suck as options for diabetes. Why not just eat your Species-specific diet and do away with diabetes concerns entirely? Seriously people :D

Yeah. Ive had the memo. Personally i believe there are many factors to it. I also believe in natural eating. No processed or high sugar stuff mainly. Yes fruits, veggies, nuts, berries, and of course some meat here or there ( we have k9's). I do appreciate your dedication to striving for naturalness. I just imho feel meat is actually healthy and prefered. I love natural food, from nature baby. Lastly everything in nature is EATING everything else. Everyday I live, something must die. Cheers
I went 100% raw vegan (eating mostly fruit) for 36 days last year. I felt amazing, but then stress and emotions got in the way, so much so that I started binging on cooked vegan food. My fruit high went down big time and I gained weight again. Currently doing another 30 day fruit challenge, but even though I have caved at least twice in 8 days, I'm not giving up :) I want to go Fruitarian/Raw vegan in the long run. I just feel so much better. The only hurdles are my mind and addiction to cooked food.
As the great Dr. Robert Morse says, you can't claim fruits cause deficiency until you fix digestion, absorption, utilization and elimination. Ironically the only way to fix them is go raw!
