Adventures of a 100% vegan grown farm- August 27th 2017

in #vegan7 years ago

In farming, when you plant your crops or your seeds, you hope for the best. The same rules apply in vegan farming, and you hope for the best. This year has delivered nothing but water in the form of rain, with not much for dry spells in between. We kept at it as best we could, and feared we may have lost our cash crop in mid July as the leaves had yellowed, but they rebounded. Cash crop you ask?

For us, it's hot peppers. Season saved financially!!

We built structures to cover them to prolong the season as we have new flowers already. Next week, the tarps.

At home, I was testing 10 heirloom varieties, in a safe environment.

Well, at least I thought I was, hurricane type winds in a 30 minute span, and all is a muck.

Go harvest something when you feel down, love the colors! :-)
