RE: The Vegan Diaries: Day 3-12 – Overcoming the toughest obstacle?

in #vegan7 years ago

Hats off to you.... I meet many vegans and something that regularly pops up is the statement "The only thing I regret about veganism is not doing it sooner".

Once you find your feet and get used to new and exciting foods you will be well on your way. I committed to veganism 3 years ago, I remember for the first few weeks every time I made an impressive new meal I'd slam the plate down and exclaim "Boom! Who needs meat"?

3 years on and since my housemate is vegan, his girlfriend, his 2 kids, my mum & my 2 kids.... I suspect we all make the best decisions we can with the knowledge we have assimilated at that time. Veganism ticks all the boxes, its a no brainer for me.

Thanks for welcoming me into the world of Steemit, I really appreciate it, also its given me a tighter focus here as if you need information on veganism then I can squirrel away and provide the many tips and tricks I've picked up over the last few years.

Something that really helped me was calling these 'foods' what they really are... ie 'Milk' became 'cow pus' as there can legally be over 400 million pus cells (somatic cells) allowed to every litre of milk....And bacon became piglet flesh etc... Although initially off putting, it represents what theses things really are, opposed to the sales names they are presented through.

You know Mr Universe a few years back is vegan Barny du Plessis, he does OK ;)
