Behind the name Kanttiadvanture

Here's a bit more about our name Kanttiadvanture. We knew we wanted to have Instagram and Facebook accounts where to share some photos along the way for our friends and families, and also to keep memories stored. We also had our own accounts already, but wanted to make this something more special. And since it was something very special to us too to go for an adventure like this.

It was hard to decide on our name. We had a lot of ideas, but for a long time none of them seemed quite right. We tried to tangle with our names, first letters N and L... Something with North and Lanes... But no, we just couldn't catch it. Then we tried a different aspect. Niina as a designer loves short words that look good as a logo, so shortly after looking for nice short finnish words, we ended up with Kantti.

Even though we thought our names last part advanture is was obvious, many people in Finland tried to mock us for making a horrible spelling mistake. We ensure that it was meant to be like that. It comes from the word adventure, but since we're traveling with a self-built van, we decided to call it an advanture.

Kantti instead is a finnish word for having chutzpah, audacity and courage to go through with something. We try to live by that word in our every day life and share it as much as we can. Kantti has also another meaning in old finnish language from Vihanti where Niina is from. It means a house or a building. Doesn't it fit perfectly for what we're doing? I think we did a pretty good job with our name. Let us know what you think!
