It was a very busy day meanwhile it was a hot Monday afternoon when I hurried down the staircase to get some edibles for myself as we wait for the next lecture scheduled in two hours time. I saw Oluchi whom I have been admiring secretly for long, although I have made my feelings known to her but she was still playing womanly. "Oly how are you? I questioned with all smiles on my face and the feelings of fulfilled which got me drowned e'n more in love. She wasn't feeling any special event unlike me. Anyway, I waved it aside because I was too blinded by love to have noticed. I asked if she could join me in the snacks,she smiled and said thank you. I quickly went up back to the lecture hall. I couldn't think about any other thing but her, meanwhile it was early February and everyone was talking about Valentines day and many single ladies and gentle men were trying as much as possible to get hooked up. Though I was shy type of a guy but not when it comes to making Oluchi understand how much I feel for her but instead she cautioned that I take think easy not to get her scared. I tried as much as I can to play by the rules of her majesty.
It was 12th February and most people have started buying valentine's gift for their loved ones. My problem was what to buy for her with the amount in my hand because I was broke. You know what school life could be like. So I decided to conduct an oral questionnaire for ladies to know what could be the best gift for a lady with the amount of money I had at hand. Opinions varied but someone said something that caught my fancy. She said that there was a gift with contains mainly inner wears, handkerchiefs and flower , that it would be admired by her. I smiled and headed out to the market and got the package as she suggested.
It was 14th February being Valentines day so I decided to take the gift along with me to the class because I was staying in the hostel and there was no money for hanging out. I called Oluchi and presented my well packaged gift to her, she smiled and asked me what was the content, feeling it through the rapper with all curiosity. I told her to check it when she got back to her hostel but instead she tore the gift in my presence and questioned in a sort of angry tone "what's this? You bought panties and bras for me? Mehn I was blushing black. I don't know if to answer yes or no why trying to ascertain what she was up to. She left it there with me and walked away disappointed. I have to also go leaving it there. It created a big vacuum in my heart and left me wandering.
Be careful with the type of gift you'll give out to your loved ones.
