Mother who refused to bring son's vaccinations up to date sentenced to 7 days in jail

Rebecca Bredow, of the Detroit area, has has been sentenced to seven days in jail for refusing to bring her child's vaccinations up to date.

Bredow appeared at a hearing on Wednesday morning at the Oakland County Circuit Court where Judge Karen McDonald sentenced her for contempt of court after Bredow refused to comply with court orders for her to allow her son to receive all his missing vaccinations within one week.

The mother of two told the judge that she takes "full responsibility" for her actions and that vaccinations go against her beliefs.

Her son is now in the care of the father. So first, I hope the boy has a strong immune system and pulls through the shots just fine. I sure the hope the doctors don't shoot him up with like 10 vaccines in a row because that for sure is going to fuck anyone's body up let along a little boy's body.

If the boy does have a reaction and least the fucking piece of shit dad has to deal with it when his son has a 104 fever a couple days after getting the shots and needs to be rushed to the emergency room. I hope that doesn't happen but if it does maybe then the dad will wake the fuck up and have seconds thoughts about his actions.

And for the court order it's above and beyond any authority the court system has. As far as i'm concerned it's an illegal government order and the ACLU should be all over this case looking to sue the court district.

This is why we desperately need a blockchain solution for health records where the public can finally see that those who receive vaccinations are the actual ones who are immunocompromised and a threat to society. Can't hide the data once it is on the blockchain and then hopefully the masses will begin to wake up.

Great point! It would be great to have a decentralized database to compile all that data.

I haven't followed the details of this story but the headlines are tragic. So many wrongs on different levels. First and foremost the government overstepping their authority. Second, both parents education on vaccinations in general. I hope they have enough good people educating them on the risks for the child in both directions.

It's not free America anymore.

TL:DR - She has shared custody with the father of the child, who believes in vaccines. They went to court and she lost - Court ordered her to follow the paternal wishes. She blatantly refused, then claimed it was "against her beliefs". Judge found her in contempt of court. Child is temporarily in the father's custody and was told by the judge to ensure the child is up to date on vaccines.

That's terrible! We refuse to vaccinate our daughter and I fear stuff like this. If we have no choice in the matter then we're definitely not free. Regardless of whether people are for or against vaccines, we should all agree they shouldn't be forced. And no one should be put in prison for refusing it. This is insanity!

I wish there was something we could do. Honestly, I feel like sharing information like this is a great start. That's what I do. I just posted a bombshell article that exposes the fraudulent science used to dispute the link between vaccines and autism.

I encourage everyone to read it and share it because most people believe the CDC legitimately looked into it and found no causal relationship. Now we can prove that the science used to make those claims isn't valid! As an european (where in some countries, most vaccines are totally free and mandatory), I do not understand the anti vaccination movement. I am not aware if in the US, mandatory vaccines are expensive just like health care in general, and thus this could lead to think vaccination is a Pharma scam, or if it's mostly about the autism, or other unproven side effects concerns.
Vaccination is one of the biggest advances in public health, having saved billions of people, and still too many people are reluctant to it for reasons stated decades ago and based on some dubious statistics.
When you notice that more than 100 countries , even some developing countries, have higher vaccination rates than the US, you need to think if the whole world and almost the whole scientific and medical community, are wrong.

Regarding freedom, I don't know who said "your freedom ends where another person's begins" but pretty much suits this situation perfectly.

Your freedom to choose to get vaccines or not, should end when another individual can get a fatal disease due to your choice (or even spread it among many individuals). If everyone had unlimited freedom, paradoxically no one would be free.

In many countries, this kind of sentences are viewed as something positive, as these policies protect children whom are not old enough to decide on their views on matters that can directly affect their health.
Even in some European countries such as Spain, in some special cases doctors can decide to give blood transfusion on Jehova witnesses' children, going against their parents wishes, as not doing so means killing them, or letting them die (however you want to phrase it).
This goes in line with the debate on hurting a human being by non-action is or is not as morally wrong as hurting them by taking action. (Classic trolley dilemma) .

Yes there's a big gray area of people's rights when they spreading disease but we also know that about %10 of the population are carriers of virus and vaccines don't work on them because they don't have an auto immune response and there's about another 10% that don't have a strong enough immune response to the vaccines so they actually get sick and spread the disease even more.

It's only logical to wonder if vaccines are truly effective at stopping diseases or maybe just basic hygiene would be just as effective and save us billions in wasted resources and medicine could focus more on cures for cancer or something else more productive.

There's also the chemicals and animal cells they put in the vaccines that make people wonder if big pharma has people's best interest in mind.

Mandatory vaccines are awful. And the enforcement of them separating mother and child is pure insanity.
