I give presentations on alternative birth plans to professionals and providers (I'm a neonatal nurse practitioner) and cover this topic thoroughly. I find it amazing that there is a HUGE warning against giving it IM and should be given SubQ, but EVERYONE still gives it SubQ! The nursing staff is always floored. There is so much wrong with the vitamin K picture in this country. Once they decided it was a good thing, they literally just stopped looking at the picture all together! (Follow me by the way!
