Our trip from Reno, NV to San Diego CA.

                                        From Reno to San Diego.

About 4 times a year, My fiance and I like to travel to our home in Southern California. Usually by flight the trip is 45 mins, not including waiting at the air ports. How ever we both do not like to fly, instead we drive. The entire Trip is about 558 miles in all. Usually we can make the drive in about 8 hours with a few stops.

Our first pit stop was the very small town of Walker. The town is about 2 hours South of Reno. The town has a very good vibe to it. everyone was very friendly. We got a burger and were on our way.

Our 2nd pit stop along the route was Walker canyon. The canyon itself is breath taking. Huge pine trees walk up the face of the mountains.

We spent about an hour walking around the park before we sped off to the next town. The next stop was a refueling in a very small town called Bridgeport CA.

                                        Bridgeport CA.

About 45 mins away from Mammoth ski resort in California.

Our next stop was the Coso Junction. Unfortunately about 30 miles south of Mammoth there was a huge wild fire in the mountains. We drove through about 3 hours of thick smoke to Coso junction.

The fire does not look like much, But man for about 3 hours that smoke was gnarly. There were 2 more stops after this one. the first was a truck stop in Southern California named Kramer junction. In my opinion a very nasty place. very dirty and not up kept very well. We made it to our destination in San Diego at about 10 pm. This time in So Cal we had a lot planned. first and the most exciting even was Cat Con 2017 LOL. my fiance was more excited than i was haha. She even got to dress up as crazy cat lady.

My fiance is crazy.

Our trip was awesome. We both had a great time. We got to visit Hollywood and a few other places that i will write about in the future. :]

I really love the drive from Reno to California. The drive gives me time to clear my head of life's stresses. It allows us the realize how big the world is, Even tho i am only driving to the state next to us lol. It gives us both another perspective on life. seeing people survive in these small small towns. The drive is long and boring at times but it is truly a good experience. hopefully you can take the same path one day.

Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing. The crazy cat lady robe made me laugh. I know it's totally out of the way on the drive, but if you ever get a chance, try taking part of the trip on Highway 1 through Big Sur. Amazing views!

I think crazy cat lady got more attention than some booths at cat con rofl.
We'll have to check it out. Is that a national park or a hidden gem?
do you know if its off highway 395?

It's a state park. Definitely not a hidden gem. Unfortunately it's wayyy out of your way, but if you ever find yourself driving by way of the San Francisco/San Jose area, definitely check it out. Amazing driving views along the coast
