just out of curiosity, any idea what happened to our upvote strength? Pre-vacation, I think mine was around $40, now it's $20. Is it due to change in Steem price?

The biggest piece is the fast draining of what's in the reward pool. It's the opposite situation of how HF 18 had to be refilled. It does look like things are stabilizing, because the payouts for posts are staying more stable across their 7-day active period. Welcome back to the complexities of Steemit! it is due to bot raping mostly. There are guys who just started a few months ago and already have 50k In steem power from abusing bot voting since posts are unlimited.
