About the project
GitLab is an open source, web-based Git-repository manager providing features such as wiki, issue-tracking and CI/CD pipeline. It has been developed by GitLab Inc, with Dmitriy Zaporozhets and Valery Sizov as software creators, and is used by several big companies - IBM, Sony, NASA, CERN, Boeing to name the few.

It evolved from a source code management solution, designed to collaborate on software development, to an integrated solution covering the software development life cycle, to begin with, and to DevOps life cycle at the end.

It operates according to an open-core development model - core functionality operates under an open source (MIT) license, whereas additional functionality is regulated by a proprietary license.

Contribution specifications

  • Translation overview: Translation work on GitLab project (as it has been so far in my experience) is predominantly based on translating of regular messages. In this section I mainly translated area pertaining to Protected Environments, Security Dashboard, Search Autocomplete, Security Dashboard, Select menu for varied operations, Shared Runners Minutes Settings, Tagi Page for most of the part. There was a bit of code, however it didn't disrupt relatively smooth work. Working on this project, as well as on others in the DaVinci+Utipian team has been a little window into the mysterious world of technology and a learning curve, allowing me to stretch my mind a little bit more beyond my daily life and experience so far.
  • Word Count: Today I translated 1007 words, what makes 6027 words in total of my contribution so far in this project.
  • Languages: The project was translated from English to Polish

Hi @yasminafly,

thank you for the contribution!

You must remember that "Runner" in IT language is translated as a "robotnik" or "wykonawca", you have left this word untranslated a few times. Besides, I did not find any mistakes in your translation. Keep up the good work! And good luck in your further work on GitLab!
