Introduction
Some see exercise as a punishment and for that reason, they go on consuming whatever comes their way. Some see it as an everyday necessity hence, they do it to keep themselves fit. There are also some who see it as fun and that is the category I belong too.
When you see it as fun, you won’t feel a thing when carrying it out. You could see yourself going through an exercise or a fitness activity for lots of hours. That was exactly how it was for me on the first day I used the app. When I had gone over thousands of steps and was still in good form, I understood the fun and training aspect. That is the reason for Actifit. You keep yourself fit and you get a lot of fun in the form of rewards.
What is Actifit??
According to the definition which you can see on the front page of the platform. And designed by @mcfarhat who is the developer of the wonderful app. Actifit is an innovative Dapp that rewards fitness activity. The Actifit name has its derivation from the two words “ACTIVITY” and “FITNESS”.
As the definition explains, when you partake in Actifit i.e. in a fitness activity using the app, you gain rewards. At the moment, the Actifit app has gone through a lot of developments and changes. But this write-up would be about the first version which I partook in.
When the app was first launched, it was on the number of steps one took and for that reason it was all about walking. Everyone who made use of the app then became walkers which is also part of exercise. The aim of the app wasn’t actually to make you walk but to improve a healthy pattern of life by keeping fit. It also aimed at rewarding the users of the app for the number of steps taken.
Actifit over its likes.
Now, there exist a lot of other applications one can use to keep track of the number of steps taken. There also exist apps for different fitness activities that perform better than Actifit. A whole lot of them comes with beautiful features that make the app more calm and acceptable.
But with all these, they are apps in their own ways. The Actifit application is the only one that rewards it users. This is the reason I tagged this sub-topic so. The Actifit app is way over the likes of other fitness app. It is the only fitness tracking application of the blockchain. It also has direct connections to the Steem platform.
The rewards given by the Actifit app comes in a way looking as though you get a pay for keeping yourself healthy. Now, who wouldn’t love the idea of having an amount of pocket money coming into your account for being healthy? When I had made use of the app for a week, I noticed the difference and had to invite my friendthusre. Now, what I had to explain to them is the fact that the rewards given by the platform is not a pay. It is a means of encouraging you to be in good health. As the saying goes, health is wealth and if you keep yourself healthy, you are in good money without knowing it.
How the Actifit reward system works.
The Actifit platform at the time of creation was at quite a low reputation of the Steem platform. Since they decided to reward the users, there had to be make some delegations to the platform. These delegations came in the form of the steempower. And they used them to upvote the users of the wonderful app.
That was the pattern the platform made the rewards to their users. One important criteria the users of the app had to know was this. For you to be able to merit a reward on the platform, you must use a five thousand step range. Hence, for that to occur and further, it's basis was on a system. For the users of the app who made:
0 steps to 4,999 steps: 0% Reward.
5,000 steps to 5,999 steps: 20% Reward.
6,000 steps to 6,999 steps: 35% Reward.
7,000 steps to 7,999 steps: 50% Reward.
8,000 steps to 8,999 steps: 65% Reward.
9,000 steps to 9,999 steps: 80% Reward.
10,000 steps and further: 100% Reward.
This pattern made it such that the number of steps determined the percentage of reward you get. Hence, if one had to gain more rewards, he/she had to train further. It wasn’t deemed necessary that at a stretch you would kill yourself. In a day, you could have your exercise three different moments. That was possible as the Actifit training card is always submitted daily. One could train in the morning have a break and do other things, again in the afternoon and later in the evening.
How to use the App.
Currently, the developer is in person of @mcfarhat. He made it possible for everyone who has a smartphone to partake. At the time they launched it, it was only on the android smartphone and one had to be in possession of one. But due to the necessity for those who had the IOS phones to partake, an update was hence made.
Hence for one to use this wonderful app or join the platform, it was easy. It is necessary to visit your Google Playstore for Android users. For the users of the IOS smartphones, it is necessary to visit your Apple Store. There you will download and install the app on your device.
After downloading the app, the next step you carry out is to register on it. You should note too, that for you to receive your rewards, you also have to register on the Steem blockchain. This is because the rewards come both in AFIT tokens and also in the Steem currencies.
When you are on the Steem platform, you can launch your application and begin any activity of your choice. Also remember that you should have made at least up to a thousand step before you can make a post on the platform. After completing the number of steps you made and is now ready to submit, select the post to Steemit button. It opens a different page which requires you to fill in your username on the Steemit platform. The next detail required of you is your private posting key on Steemit.
The next detail is the name you wish to give to the training. With default, it is set with an already made post title. This is not compulsory for editing but if you wish to change it, it is up to you. After that, you would have to choose the type of activity you had carried out. Also in the first version of the app, this was not included. Due to the fact that there exist other exercises one can do to keep fit, the developer of the app made this available.
Now, you are free to choose the activity you had taken part in. One can go through your daily activity card and adopt your patter of exercising. The last blank for you to fill is the post content of your activity. The space is for you to give a short detail of what you did and how you did it. Any other short story of your training you wish to tell us is as well welcomed.
If you would ask me, this is a very important part of this post and I make sure I fill it. If you don’t explain what you did and how you did or what you notice, then how would you encourage others? By filling in this detail, people can go through your experience. Then, they can know what they did wrong or what they are not doing. Hence they would be able to make observations and corrections to themselves.
Conclusion
As I said at the beginning of this post, every detail I have listed here is about the first version and a bit of update. The Actifit platform is still undergoing updates. And for sure, they would keep growing till they reach the top. You should note that this platform still wishes to keep rewarding the users. Hence you can make contributions which are as well accepted. If you wish to help the community grow further, you can delegate to the community. Do this by reaching them on their platform. Actifit.io.
When you delegate to this platform, you also get rewards in the form of the Actifit tokens. You can also join the Actifit discord or chat up with the great developer @mcfarhat.

Hello @xandar-cage, thank you for promoting the Actifit project.
My question is: Why did you choose to start the promotion of the Actifit project with the outdated version?
Actifit has advanced beyond this version, and most of the information you are sharing is somehow antiquated.
On the content side, there are lots of issues which are more on simplifying your grammar, punctuations and, some misplaced of words. I advise that you check for errors/typos before submitting your future contributions.
I appreciate the effort you put in writing this post. Well done!
