OI Flashlight
OI Flashlight is a simple flashlight that helps you in the dark. It enlightens the surroundings using the screen. For devices with camera flash, It can also use the flash as a torch light.
Component-1: Control the camera flash from the application's home screen
When the app is turned on, Only the option to turn on the back light is visible on the application's home screen. For turning on the camera flash the user has to go into the settings menu and enable the usage of camera flash. Hence the user has to change settings every time to toggle between backlight and camera flash.
Proposal
It is suggested that the option to enable the camera flash shall be available on the appication's home screen itself to make things simple.
**Mockups / Examples
The suggested feature would look like as highlighted in the above screenshot. The top highlighted one to control the camera flash and the bottom highlighted one to control the backlight.
Benefits
Using the suggested feature the user need not go to the settings menu every time to toggle between backlight and camera flash which can be time saving and user friendly.
Component-2: Flickering of Flashlight
When the app is turned on, Only the option to turn on the back light is visible on the application's home screen. There is no option to make the flash light flicker neither on the home screen nor in the settings menu.
Proposal
It is suggested to have an option in the application's home screen to make the flash light flicker. Also an option to control the frequency of flickering could be placed.
**Mockups / Examples
The suggested feature would look like as highlighted in the above screenshot. The user can control the frequency of flickering by moving the bar to the left or right. (Left to slow and right to fast the Flickering)
Benefits
The feature could benefit the user to signal others in case of any emergency situations.
Conclusion
The above suggestion can be time saving and the user will have many options to explore in the app.
