Byteball Review: How to Backup and Return a Byteball Wallet

Introduction

Byteball has become good news for all steemians, as the Byteball concept that aims to create a snowball phenomenon we have experienced. Suddenly Byteball appeared and was famous for giving rewards to users of Steem. Byteball steals attention by giving rewards to customers based on reputation. As if in command in so many hours Steemian downloaded the Byteball wallet application.

At first I thought Byteball only created a reward program for Steem users, but after I learned more there were a few Bots that could be used to earn Byteball rewards. For more details, fellow colleagues can try using the Byteball Bot one by one. But behind it all, some of the steemians were worried about the Byteball wallet because the wallet must not be removed just because the assets that have been stored in the smart wallet can be deleted (lost). Or some other steemian think it will be difficult if one day you have to change your smartphone but the Byteball wallet cannot be moved.

Actually, the Byteball wallet has a Backup and Restore feature available, maybe because Byteball something new for some of these things has gone unnoticed. For me personally doing activities Backup data including wallet is a mandatory activity. For the Byteball case, have your fellow colleagues thought if a smartphone is used to crash or steal? if this happens then the assets in the Byteball wallet will be very vulnerable to being lost. Based on these conditions I decided to make a post tutorial on how to Backup and Restore wallets Byteball. Although I have found a number of posts that write about this, I am still very interested in giving a clearer and easier to understand tutorial for my fellow users.

In this post tutorial I intentionally used all the images in GIF format, so that my colleagues had no difficulty in following the steps to Backup and Restore Wallet Byteball. Hopefully this tutorial provides more benefits for those who need it.

How to Backup Byteball Wallet

For the first part, I will explain the steps to "Backup" the Byteball wallet. I got all the steps I wrote through my experience and experiments using Byteball.

• Open the Settings Menu

The Byteball Wallet Backup process begins with accessing the "Settings" menu. Please click the three dashes in the upper left corner of the Byteball wallet application, then please select the "Settings" menu as shown in the following picture.

• Select Full Backup

Then you will see several settings options that can be configured. In this section please select the "Full Backup" option. I need to emphasize here that every time you make a Backup, your fellow users are required to choose the Full Backup option because only through this option can you restore your wallet assets. There is another option to make a backup with the Backup Wallet Seed option but this option is not the right choice because it is unable to restore multisig and private assets. So again I emphasize that please use the Full Backup option to do Backup wallet Byteball.

After the Full Backup option is selected, the option will appear to enter a password and confirm. The purpose of this password is as a security when performing a restore. If someone steals a backup file then it cannot be used because the restore process requires a password that was set up when backing up the wallet. The password that has been entered should be recorded and stored properly because Byteball cannot recover passwords for Backup files.

• Export File Backup

As the last step is to export the Backup file by clicking or tap on the "Export" button. When this export process is complete, the Backup File will be stored on the internal Storage Smartphone precisely in the Byteball folder. Up to here the "Backup" process byteball wallet has been completed

This backup file so that you don't lose it, I highly recommend that it be stored in several places, especially on Cloud applications such as OneDrive, Drop Box and other familiar Cloud applications to use. This aims to make it easier for steemian colleagues to access files when they need them and prove to be safer if stored on a hard drive or flashdisk that has the possibility of media damage.

How to Restore Byteball Wallet

After the steps to back up the Byteball Wallet above are understood, next I will show you how to restore or make a restore on the Byteball wallet that was previously backed up. Following are the steps that need to be done if at any time you need to restore the wallet.

• Open Settings

The first step that is done is the same as when doing the Backup process, namely accessing the Settings menu via the three strip icon in the upper left corner of the Byteball wallet.

• Restore Full Backup

If in the Backup process the selected option is Full Backup, then for the restore process the user must select the "Restore Full Backup" option as seen in the image below with the "Restore Full Backup" menu marked with the red column.

Next a display will appear that requires the user to enter a Backup and Password file that has been predetermined.

• Import File Backup

After the backup file is selected and entered the password, the last step is to do "Import File Backup" by tapping or clicking on the "Import" button. If this process is successful, the wallet will reappear.

Conclusion (Vital Records)

When I tried restoring the Byteball wallet precisely at the restore process, I encountered a problem because I always popped up the notification file or the password I entered was wrong, even though the files and passwords I used were appropriate. After I stopped the import process for several hours, the wallet that I automatically restored has returned along with all the assets in it.

Personally I do not recommend doing a restore action if it is not really needed, because I see an imperfection when the restore process is done, namely a file or password error notification.
