Mailbox, Messages and Pokes are good way of Socializing People

Within Steemit community there is little option to able to communicate , they only use discord and other chat tools to be able to coordinate with each other. I would like to suggest if a mail system will be applied within the communication for this will really be a big help for communication and coordination of users within the community.

This will help notify the user about something and that user will able to read those messages since it is well organized than replying in any post or putting comments. This following method might be able to put unattended and that is a big drawback to many user.

This will help make the community grow by communicating each other , which really help build a better and growing community. The user experience will be a plus also if there is direct messages and pokes for this will make people socialized each other

For Mail Box it is also another feature that is needed , what if you need to send direct message to to the person, as of now you need to post into one of his articles but what if he/she does not able to see it since some post have many comments and replies and you might able to skip check his/her message there.

For Poke Function this could be another feature that is nice to have , just to inform the person that you want to get notice on him without any further messaging or something.

Current Menu List in Dashboard

In current dashboard as we can see there is no option to communicate the user or called his/her attention. The only way is to post one of his articles/blogs but sometimes due to many post and some replies there are chances that the message will be skip or missed by accident.

In this section when you click the Mailbox menu there is a drop down :
Pokes and Inbox
Pokes is where you can see all people who pokes you.
Inbox is where you can see all of the messages/ direct message from other user.

Poke and Messages

Pokes are just a quick way of communication between users. This is one way of socializing with other people without any messages or something. This will help people to build friendship and also serve as not so formal way of communication.

Messages is a more formal way of communicating between users, where it is composed with subject and contents. This way of communication is much better for it will greatly improve the social communication of users to users within the community.

In here we can see two options : Message and Poke , any user can click one of this two function or both.
When you click poke, it will automatically send a notification on the user that he/she has been poked and that can be found under Mailbox -> Pokes

When you click Message, you will be redirect into an editor same as when you are creating blog or article the difference is that it has no tags in it. You just need to compose a message and then click a send after.

In this view you can see a sample direct message editor.

Inbox function

The user will able to see all the messages in his/her inbox from other users within the Steemit Community. From there you can only reply back.

Pokes Menu

In this section you can see all people that you had been poked and from there is a return poke telling the other user that you have confirmed him.Pokes on each user can be done once every 24 hours , this to prevent people from spamming.

You can adjust settings

You can able to adjust settings , if unchecked you will not accept messages and pokes.
If checked you accept messages and pokes.
You can add edit , if you want to block someone that you don't want to accept or you can block all and accept only specific persons you know.

Advantages of this Features

• You can send direct message to any user
• You can poke to any user
• You have your own inbox where you can other messages from other users
• You have pokes where you can check users who needs your attention
• You have settings if you don't want to accept messages
• You have settings if you don't want to accept pokes
• You have settings to block messages and pokes from users you don't like (use edit)
• You have settings to accept messages and pokes only users you like (use edit)

This features are nice to have. Hope they could check on this.
