Open source software has many advantages that you will find, ranging from time saving, cost, foreign exchange, reducing piracy rates, and so forth.

With that in mind, this is the best open source software in use.

KeePass Password Safe

is an open source option that I recommend. Packaged in the tools you want including AES encryption of your entire login details database (not just the password itself).

Mozilla Firefox

The best browser is a customizable browser with plugins for every destination.
Why do I choose firefox because it has a collection of extensions and tens of thousands of pugin.

Audacity

is the tool of choice for many recordings, musicians and so forth. You can use it to edit clips, copy and paste audio parts.

VLC Media Player

is the world's most free media player, for good reason - VLC can handle almost any audio file, video file, or media stream you can throw, without the hassle of installing additional codecs.

GIMP

is a photo editor selection program for Photoshop replacement. If you do not need the power of GIMP and prefer a simpler interface, check Paint.NET.

Blog posts category in Utopian are meant for 3 types of acceptable submissions. Only one of them are open for people other than project owners and collaborators: Project Promotion Posts. As stated in the rules quoted above, project promotion posts are under some limitations, they should be about new features, events and innovations of the project and contain detailed overviews. Brief introductions to some open source projects don't really add value to any particular project, as it should be, in this case OpenCV.
I suggest re-reading category rules before contributing again in the future. Utopian blog posts category isn't meant for general open source blogging, instead for some accepted types of direct contributions to the open source project with the linked repository.
