I'm the author of Get On Steem
The project is open source and source maps are attached so you can check source code directly in your browser.

However, this is the option for developers only.

I wanted to use steemconnect but there are no scopes for creating account

Active key is required to create an account.
Password is generated (on client side) but you can type whatever you want in password field.

I really like the proposal as it would make projects more trustworthy (or the opposite).
