As for deserving charities, there are many many many out there, all with a different goal or target in mind, But since this platform is a global community I would love to see something that benefits all of us here on the platform. Perhaps even dividing that 1000 steem into 2 equal donations and choosing a NPO in 2 different countries each time. The huge charities receive billions each year, the more localized groups, I feel would be better served with these donations
