Tutorial 1 : Exploring WhatsApp features

WhatsApp as we all know is an instant messaging app with which one can send a wide range of messages to individuals and groups. Millions of people around the world are a user of the App. The amazing part is you don't have to compulsorily gain a higher education before you can use WhatsApp. It is a common messaging app in our community as people at all level can use it.

Despite that whatsapp is simple and easy to use, larger percent of the users still can't explore to use it's features to full capability to get the intended experience for which it is built.

Therefore I made this as a three series tutorials for exploring the embedded features. This is the first series.

THE STATUS
Firstly you will need to update your WhatsApp to the latest version for your to access the features I'm going to discuss here. On your WhatsApp page, it is in three phases :

• Chats

• Status

• calls

The chat phase shows all your chats (conversations) with your individual friends and groups you're in.

The concentration here is on the status as most people tend to ignore it whereas it is the fun part of it.

To use it, click on the status.
And it displays..

You have the privilege of writing or upload videos as much as you can on your status for all your friends to see.
But note that your status is only available to your friends for view for 24hours after which it disappears.

Whatever you place on your status is temporary and does not change or affect the display of your profile picture or profile status.

You attended an event and you want to share your experience or pictures with all your WhatsApp friends, all you need is upload them via the status channel.

Here's how you can do it.
On the above image, click the arrow 1, write what you want to share, then send.

Click arrow 2 to upload a video or picture as seen below.

You can add caption to it if need be.

To see all your status and who among your friends or number of people that view your status, click on arrow 3.

It will display thus:

Click on where the arrow points and you will see number of people that viewed your status.

From here, you can choose to delete any of the status you wish.

This helps you to know who your followers are and the fun in seeing people viewing your status.

From image 2 above, the recent updated are the status of your friends. Click on any of them you wish to see. Automatically,all the available status play one after the other.

Try this out and get better chat experience.
