Pictures from Arizona’s Heatwave: “Everything is Literally Melting”

in #usa7 years ago (edited)

(AntiMedia) Ask any Arizonan whether their summers are more tolerable because “it’s a dry heat” and you’re likely to be asked to turn your oven to 150 degrees, stick your head inside for 20 minutes and report back as to whether or not the humidity within the oven ever crossed you mind. Probably not.

And while Arizonans have learned to cope with the “dry heat,” this summer has been particularly brutal for people living in the Southwest as temperatures have already soared to over 120 degrees in certain areas. What’s worse, it’s only June.

And while the heatwave may not be that fun for the people living through it, it does making for some amazing pictures of stuff melting.

Perhaps that plastic mailbox post wasn’t such a great idea in retrospect.

On the bright side, you can get all your baking done outside in mother nature’s free oven.

Plastic fences…also not a great idea. Come on Arizona…you’re better than this.

Meanwhile, this Tempe resident (undoubtedly an ASU student judging by all the cheap alcoholic beverages) was just trying to do his part to fight climate change by recycling his beer bottles…it seems that ManBearPig won this round.

Breakfast is served…

Meanwhile, even the road signs are melting down…

…which is going to make it even harder for this guy to get around town…

Al Gore is going to have a field day with these pics.

Everyone needs to go wash their cars...that's usually when it rains.

Sry, didn't get what you mean.

Global warning ain't real, just relaxe :)
Btw.. That is freaking insane!

And at 120 degrees fahrenheit you get freaking insane, too!

Yes, have watched this on youtube quite lately. You can even bake your cookies inside your car. The weather is acting indifferently now a days. It's getting hotter in some places, storms and flooding in other areas like in China lately. Makes you think, what's going on. Is it HAARP, or CERN?

You don't have to go that far. How about CO²?

El Paso, Texas here....Yes it is HOT 100+ days for 2 weeks and counting. Last week we had 110, today a bit cooler.....104.

How do you survive outside?

I remember being in Texas and it was 110 People could not handle it. Your car must not like it at all! The climate seems to be always changing some good some bad. Where I live it is a rain forest It was wet for the first 5 years we were here now it is dryer. In a few years back to wetness! I enjoy your posts!

Thank you @wavemaster, to hear that motivates us even more!

And people try to say that global warming is fake...

You mean global warming :P

Yeah, cheers ah

On Thursday, in Ahvaz, Iran, temperatures hit a blazing 53.7 degrees Celsius or 128.66 degrees Fahrenheit. These temperatures were just shy of the 54 C (129.2 F) global records in Mitribah, Kuwait on July 21, 2016 and in California’s Death Valley on July 30, 2013 identified by Chris C Burt of Weather Underground. The reading was also the hottest temperature ever recorded in Asia.

So it's happening: The earth is getting warmer.
