RE: New Steempower delegated to @randofish + Bonus Upvotes!!

in #upvote7 years ago

Ok let's crunch some numbers. Assume that the percentage upvote is completely random, you will have an expected payoff of 28 cents (56 cents*50%). Now, lets add 20 cents from other upvotes (mid-point of 10-30), that gives us 48 cents. If we adjust for @randofish's current SP (75%), that gives us 36 cents. If we take out curation, that gives us an expected value of 27 cents (25% curation). 27 cents is greater than 25 cents, that would be a conservative estimate. There will be times that you will get less than 25 cents back but you will get a minimum return of 10 cents (7.5 cents after curation). On the other hand, you could get up to 86 cents (64 cents after curation).

I think it is worth the risk. I got a 1.93% upvote from @randofish today but I think that was just bad luck. I will continue to support @randofish. The randomness adds a bit of fun, will I win or will I lose?

Well said, randomness is what makes this a bit exciting -- and 0.25 is not a big deal to waste, anyway.
