What keep Africa behind?

Africa is one of the most blessed continents in the world,we are blessed with wide areas of land that support the growth of many world famous plants. Our weather conditions are so favourable for both plants and animals to dwell. Talking about a good climatic conditions, Africa is not left behind. We have good amount of rain fall year in year out,and that's why you see most of African countries growing their crops on rain water without artificial irrigation system.

Africa is the headquarter of all natural resources you can mention all over the world. Talking of petroleum, gold, iron ore, thin ore, coal, limestones and many more,we are so blessed with them all.

The human resources made available in Africa are second to non all over the world, we are naturally strong, fit and heathy. If some other continents should live their lives the way we live ours, they won't be able to cope.

We are beautiful in Africa, so much beautiful like the rest of the world.... Black is beautiful.

Africa is also blessed with so much intelligent people,we have great people here in Africa. Those that are powerful enough to shake the whole world are here in Africa. But despite every beautiful things about Africa, we are still lagging behind when compare with our other counterparts all over the world.

Why are we lagging behind?

Corruption: this is the deadliest virus that spread among our leaders. Only very few people want to take all what belong to many. They keep pilling up things for themselves more than what they need. If all these embezzled resources are kept within the wall of Africa, it would have been better, but they shipped and flied the resources to other continents thinking they will get away with it by keeping it far away from us,not knowing they are developing other continents who in turn would tag us under developed continent.

Bad leadership: no matter how available the resource is,if you don't manage it well,it can never be enough. We have countries all over the world with less than half of what we have in Africa, but with good management approach, they are doing better than us. I'm not saying we don't have good leaders at all,but the number of bad ones are far more than the good ones, and this render the work of the good ones meaningless.

Mind set :not until resent time that the African began to have a mentality that we are as capable at handling things as other continents. The general believe prior to this time was that we are not better than the other continents in any form. This believe have so much limited us that we can't do acceptable things on our own. This makes us to be importing what is readily available in our continent from other continents. I'm not saying their should not be a transaction between countries or the continents, but where is the sense if we keep abandoning ours for there?

What's next?
After identifying the problem, I think the next question is the way forward. This has been answered in the above listed points. For every problem walk with it solution. But just for emphasis, let's stop looking there for solution, let's start looking here!
Our solution lies within us. Its high time we start managing our resources to the fullness so as to create more opportunities for our people and to profit us. God has given us all we need,it is our responsibility to make use of it.

Let's form a law that will make life miserable for the corrupt leaders. If our resources are within our walls,it will benefit us all.

And lastly, like this newly embraced slogan in Nigeria that CHANGE BEGGING WITH ME,let's work on our mindset, we can do things exactly the way those we considered to be ahead of us are doing it,but we must believe this fact before it manifest.
