UNTALENTED: Amazing Adjustments That Have Happened To My Life Since I Found Steemit - From A Corporate Zombie To A Steemit Blogger

It´s been 192 days since I joined Steemit and I must say that I´m so glad I joined this community. I was skeptical in the beginning but what the heck, there is always a beginning when you venture into something new. I used to train people in my department, delegated some works but since my retirement last year from the corporate world , I have been more relaxed. Shortly before the retirement, I thought of what I will be doing in my free times...and hey, I have to be honest that I was a bit scared about boredom, about not being hectic, nothing much to do, or not interacting with many people. I was missing the stress in the morning of waking up too early and get dressed for work. Well, a couple of months went by....

AND THEN, STEEMIT CAME INTO MY LIFE...... !!!

My friend @otom, my crypto mentor.... introduced me to Steemit, everything was quick! I spent less time for my hobbies and concentrated on writing contents and blogging on Steemit. The big thing that really changed me is my perception on cryptocurrencies after joining this great community. I learned a lot of wonderful people, met new friends, became one of the organizers of an FB group called Steemit powerup.ph helping newbies and other members on how to start blogging, advising them and giving hints how their sites could work for them. It´s time consuming, but I am glad I could be of help to those aspiring authors , older members also help newbies as good as they can.

During the past months, one newbie @xylee was so discouraged when a big whale downvoted her introduceyourself post for using the hashtag steemit. From her reputation score of 33, she was downvoted to 9. I posted a content shout out calling big whales to look into @xylee´s situation. And they all came to help her particularly @patrice @tuck-fheman @surpassinggoogle @drakos @arcange @inquiringtimes @ocrdu @st3llar @allmonitors... they all fixed the situation and even raised her reputation to 48. Thank you guys!!!

The first payout I received from Steemit was meant for the driving school of my nephew Tim @gremayo as a present ... it has been a long wish of him to be able to learn to drive. He became so happy after getting his driving license. I asked him to join steemit to showcase his potential in digital animation which was actually his profession and so he did. But he said he prefers to do some charcoal portrait of interesting faces of people. Now he is saving for something and would want to show more of his works on steemit so he would be able to earn rewards to finance his endoscopy and colonoscopy examination. With the reward that I earn on steemit, I help the family of my younger brother financially. However small, I wanted them to feel secured at times of financial crisis. My mom and dad in heaven would surely be happy with my deeds.

I have learned during the course of my stay on Steemit that through it , you can help a lot of people by reaching out to them, ask them to join our community instead of wasting time on other social media. There is so much givings around this community as well as educating its users on how to use those informations. For me, the giving is far more important than receiving. By giving, you receive the satisfaction of being acknowledged by them....there is a sense of being a human helping out another human and particularly if they succeed in their chosen path. Such is the case of Terry @surpassinggoogle who never ceases to help out everyone in his own ways. I have never known any person of this gravity who, despite pains and sorrow, still chooses to touch our hearts with his love, kindness and compassion.

I used to be impatient before because of the nature of my job. Since I joined steemit after retirement... hectic and stress were no longer in existence and I have transformed myself and has become a better me. I am not a good writer though, but I enjoyed blogging and sharing my ideas in this community. As a relaxed person nowadays, you´ll sometimes see me taking a long walk or doing a bit of sports and thinking along the way on... what will my next blog be on Steemit.
