Everyone Is Talking About Universal Basic Income

in #universal8 years ago

Everywhere you go you can't escape it, if you go online you will see a news article or video like this about Universal Basic Income:

I've always been a capitalist, always will be. I thought that this was just people promoting socialism in the past few years, but now that I've been watching a few videos I've realized that this is different and that some people make a good case for it. Some of the most brilliant minds are endorsing it. My opinion is that they have supercomputers working on the analytics, they get massive amounts of data on people and that they see the numbers of unemployment in real time.

Their main argument is that machines and AI are coming for all jobs. Hawaii may be the first state to implement Universal Basic Income: https://www.attn.com/stories/17834/hawaii-considers-universal-basic-income

What are your thoughts? Socialism has destroyed countries, will this be different?

As always it depends on actions in future.

:D

I don't know about Stephan, he asks people for donations, he puts this on every video: "Your support is essential to Freedomain Radio, which is 100% funded by viewers like you. Please support the show by making a one time donation or signing up for a monthly recurring donation at: http://www.freedomainradio.com/donate "

If he supported the capitalist model he wouldn't ask for donations, he would get sponsors.

Basically he doesn't like a non-capitalist system, yet his business is based upon donations, a non-capitalist system. Real capitalists do not ask people for donations, they run a successful enough business to the point of never asking a person for money.
