My Why (Why I am joining a Guild and shifting my focus)

When I first joined Steemit, it was on a whim. @rodeo670 told me about it and invited me and really, we have never actually hung out and we sort of knew each other in passing. I was tired of living the fakebook life. I was in a tough situation and wanted to look for something more. (Queue Belle's "There must be more than this provencial life.") I wanted real connections and not just holding on to a library of people I "know." So, when I joined I figured now's my chance, be you, unaltered. Show them who you are behind closed doors.

I've shared my hopes and dreams, my deepest fears, and intimate moments. I guess you can say I joined for myself. Since then, my focus has shifted to the community that has helped me and others like me in so many ways. I have met an enormous amount of like-minded individuals and we're all coming together. Pretty soon our Unity Guild will be growing the kind of people I wish to thrive on the steemit platform. People who help those who are willing to help themselves as well. This has been an important factor to me. A deciding factor when it comes to who I support and who I admire.
I have learned so much about myself through being a member of PALnet which is the only server I was in at first. I ventured out and soon realized PALnet members( who last )have one thing in common, they are all there to help. In some shape or form, the ones that stick out and make an impression are the ones that see the universe as it is and that we are all the same. Underneath it all, if you strip down race, gender, politics, personality types, all that... when you get down to the nuggety center, we all want peace, abundance, and liberty.
