Happy Solar New Year

in #ungrip7 years ago (edited)

At 9:24 MST this morning the new solar year will begin.  The sun will start to rise in the sky bringing warmth and longer days.  During this Winter Solstice we will reflect on the past year and start planning for the spring.  As we live within the cycles of nature, winter is for resting, so I spend a lot of time writing as you can tell.  We will start discussing which plants to grow, when to start them, hatching chickens & ducks and planning for the arrival of baby goats as well.

In a few days we have invited our clan to our place for our yearly clan party.  I look forward to this party as it is important to get together on a regular basis to break bread and catch up on what everyone is doing.  Spending time with family and friends are important to us, so we do this whenever we can.  I long for the days where communities get together once a week to spend time together.  Instead we do it through interfaces rather face-to-face.

The feudal serfs are preparing themselves for their statutory holidays, granted to them by their feudal masters.  Statutes are nothing more than royal public announcements (promulgation).  Statutory Holidays are granted to the kings serfs so that they can have specific days off throughout the year.  It is the kings attempt to ensure that the serfs are not taken advantage of by unscrupulous business owners who try to get everything they can from the human resources at their disposal.  They think these resources can be pillaged like any other natural resource on this planet.  After all, the king swore and oath to protect the people and that also means to ensure the vulnerable are protected as well.

We don't celebrate or recognize statutory holidays.  Instead we follow our own customs and traditions.  We are working hard to remove our dependency on the Gregorian Calendar as it is messed up and does not follow any natural cycle on this planet, the horrible symptoms of greed.  We would love to move to a lunar calendar as it would help out with so many of our activities throughout the year.

It is also this time of year when we renew our commitment to walking the path where we express Christ level of consciousness.  This journey has not been easy but has been rewarding.  During this celebration I reflect on the past year and work to forgive myself and others so that I can let go of any emotional baggage that I may be carrying.  Despite all that has unfolded, people still make mistakes and we are all learning.  So I work to forgive as I celebrate my own personal jubilee to ensure the slates are clean for the new year.  I also work hard to break the slates so that I don't keep score any longer.  Keeping score means somebody wins and others lose.  I don't want to keep score any longer.  Instead I want to have a loving relationship with people where everyone enjoys prosperity.  So today I work on busting up my slates and continue working on my journey towards Christ level consciousness.

So in the spirit of the earthly season and the impacts it has on Spirit, I celebrate the new solar year today and I look forward to what the new year brings.  May Creator bless us all with peace, freedom, prosperity, joy and love as we embark on yet another trip around the sun!  A timeless tradition that influences life on this planet and requires that we come into harmony with that cycle so that we can use this experience to grow as young, youthful spiritual beings.

Well hmm, I didn't, but now I see that I indeed do have some more influence on upvoting for others! I'm still working out what's what around here. Thank you so much for your kindness. I am so grateful that I stumbled upon you and your blog. Blessings indeed!

Every day the sun begins to rise on the day and the end of the sun rises one day, so our days are gone, we wait while the new year comes for the new year when we celebrate this big day

wow
I think am gonna make a research about this
The solar new year
I have never heard about it before.

Winter solstice is when the sun drops to the lowest point in the sky and results in our shortest day and longest night. The start of when the sun rises to start a new journey across the sky along our trip around the sun. Solar New Year. :)

Great knowledge @wwf
I will research on it and possible make a post about it.

How wonderful of you to share your celebration intentions with us so we can celebrate in spirit too! Thank-you! Hugs! Cheers!! To the new year ahead <3 such a special time of year for sure. Today my first born turns 15 <3 what a year it has been. Glad to enjoy these moments getting to know you and now your beautiful wife too! Blessings & Love. Hope you enjoy your celebrations greatly!! Namaste.

You are all here in spirit. Of that I have no doubt. I do feel blessed having so many people in my life like yourself. I thank you for sharing this journey with us. May we all walk side-by-side as brothers and sisters as we explore what it means to be a Spiritual being in command of such a beautiful, powerful and amazing vessel in this astounding physical realm we call life. Many moments to celebrate. May each breath we take be a sacred reminder of the gifts that we have! Peace to you Jill! <3

This day "winter solstice" is my favorite of all others. The magic that happens it explainable but so welcomed. There always seems to be something showing us a sign. In the wee hours of the morning here with temps far below freezing, the clouds parted and gave us a sight of Orion that we'd never seen before. The massive amount of stars gave a very clear picture of not only the sword but other items hanging from the belt and a truly more revealing picture of the constellation than I'd ever witnessed before.

Now is the beginning of the rebirth of a new season. Happy "solstice" to everyone!

Living away from the city has been a blessing. The sky is so wonderous and when I lived in the city I missed it for years. I grew up on the farm and love watching the stars. Over the last ten years I have returned to watching them. I even downloaded and run the program Stellarium to help me learn more about what is beyond my physical grasp. <3 This time of year especially as it is dark here about 4pm, which gives me LOTS of viewing time. In the summer it does not even get dark enough to gaze and I have to be awake at 2am to get the darkest viewing. Lovely time of year. Fall and Winter are my most favorite times of the year.

I am so very blessed to be living on a mountain top and the view of the night sky can keep me up all night sometimes. I may have to look into getting Stellarium, would love to know what some of those wonders are up there. I may have been a bear in a past life LOL, I love snuggling in and hibernating to some degree in the winters here. Plus I REALLY don't like shoveling snow.

I grew up with 2 calendars: Lunar and Solar. Farmers always follow Lunar calendar to plant and harvest. My ancestors including my parents recorded their birthdate in the Lunar calendar on the family book. I didn't even know Gregorian Calendar represents the horrible symptoms of greed. :-(

Thank you for your blessing as we celebrate this day! Wish you a prosperous, peaceful, loving, free, and joyful new year!

Thank you so much for sharing. This is my favorite time of the year. This past 24 hours has been eye opening, and so grateful for all it brings to my awareness. Peeling more layers to embrace the solar new year in all its fullness.
Thank you @wwf. Much love to you all!

Much love and respect to you too. <3

I also celebrate Yule time with my friends, sadly our often amazing solstice gathering was not quite the same this year. I still got to celebrate with a ton of like minded people in an actual pyramid and danced around a sacred fire to the drumbeat, so that was great! I can't wait to put together a post about it when I find the time.

I prefer the pagan inspired celebrations that turn with the wheel of the year, though I attend the rather normal celebrations and holidays with my family.

I feel like I was rejuvinated this solstice, and although still in the season of rest, I feel the light stirring and coming back along with energy, motivation and dreams of the future <3

I look forward to reading your post. Sounds wonderful. I love learning about customs of other people. Brilliant! thank you for sharing.

I hope to get deep into the pagan holiday origins, which go hand in hand with ancient Irish lore. One of my favorite subjects. I will not run out of ancient history blog topics ever!

Love this post. My husband and I have been trying to establish our Winter Solstice tradition with our Children. Upvoted.

I lost track and was reminded by one of our clan members the other day that this was the 6th year we have done this. Bravo to you!
