It is true to never talk to police and never let CPS in. I have a friend who let CPS in and she was telling me how nice they were. That's their job. To make you feel comfortable enough that you slip and tell them something they can use against you! It worked out okay for her, but her kids still have a file. We have done home birth and others mentioned above. If you plan to move out of the country (like we did), you do have to get a passport, so you have to have a birth certificate.
