Ulog + Photography =Ulography #7 - Visit To The Village

in #ulog6 years ago

These are the sweet apples from the village near Kyustendil. Every summer we visit my husband's grandparents house to attend the yearly feast celebration in the village. His uncle and aunt (both retired) stay there for few months to take care of the house and the garden. They have a huge garden full of vegetables and fruits, including these apples.

Whenever there are leftover apples, we would ask Mamo to make a nice and delicious apple cake.

These apples are one of the sweetest apples I've ever tasted, not only that they are sweet but also crunchy. You can pick some of them from the ground. One tree can produce plenty of apples, the whole neighborhood can have a supply for the whole summer:) you will never run out anyway because they exchange fruits and vegetables with each other. If you live in a small village, it's like you are living together, everybody treats each other like a family, everybody knows each other. Helping and sharing is a part of their every day lives.

Ah that was a really nice, and relaxing post with images. I used to have a nice garden back in Canada, but now don't yet in Japan. Peaches are popular here, and thankfully a neighbour of ours is friendly with my young daughter, like his granddaughter, so he brings over fresh fruits and veggies. Its a different experience to eat something that was just picked the same day.

thanks a lot.
Glad that you have a friendly neighborhood in Japan:)
fresh fruits and veggies from your own garden -is a real deal.
