The Catholic Church today peacefully and prayerfully protested against the avoidable killings by the Fulani herdsmen and the inability of the Government and the Security Agencies to put an end to it.
The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria in a more practical way used this rally to pass the clear message of asking the Government to live up to the expectation of protecting life and properties.
This responsive action took place today
across the nation in solidarity with the faithful of Benue state who buried the two priests and 17 members massacred by the Fulani herdsmen during morning mass.

Human life is sacred and this cannot be overemphasized. The leaders and Security agencies are sleeping over a bomb waiting for it to explode. The citizens are helpless and made vulnerable to these herdsmen terrorists and the questions are: who are the herdsmen? Are they humans and above the law? Are the military not capable of curbing them? When will this inhuman acts end? Do we now have second class citizens? Don't we still have freedom to worship? If those in powers lack ideas and can't fix things, let them resign.
We hope and pray that the needful will be done. May the Lord bless and keep us safe from all harms and dangers and may the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen
