Wish I could scream on top of my lungs!
No other words would roll out than...
Crazy crazy crazy pretty ugly day!
So just yesterday, I was glad to be going to Ibadan to continue my nysc registration since I relocated from Bauchi state...
I thought it was going to be something fun and not too stressful, so before travelling, I did the usual, taking selfies and even spending more time than usual!
I got to Ibadan and the queue wasn't long, I relaxed a bit, I smiled like I wouldn't be receiving the oscar award of the best frown the very next minute.
I was told to log into my dashboard, check my new state code in other for me to proceed with my registration...
Whoop! I checked and staring right back at me was my formal state code from Bauchi...
Didnt know what to do at first, so I spent the first couple of minutes staring at others as they checked their codes and got their files...
Finally, I had the gut to work up to the woman...
"Excuse me ma, my state code hasn't changed" I said...
She screamed "When were you asked to report"
"Today"
"Were you here last week?"
Nervously, I said "No ma"
"Then what are you telling me? Please get down" She said eyeing me...
Of course, I quickly explained that I was around last week, my puppy eye look seemed to work on her and she changed towards me. She asked me to write down my name on a piece of paper, she went in, came back out and said the code would change soon, I didn't know that I was going to be "waiting for Godot"
"Waiting for Godot" is a drama text by Samuel Beckett written during the age of modernism, the play text, a tragi-comedy through it's plot, characterization portrays the theme of absurdity, confusion, confinement which characterized the modern year.
The play follows the life of the only two characters lost in time and space, wishing for death and yet can't take their mind off the mundane things of the world. The play begins with the characters waiting for Godot, till the play ends, Godot doesnt arrive and the reader doesn't even get to know who or what Godot is...
Hence, I waited and waited, An hour passed, it was still funny, I waited till 5pm, almost over four hours then I realized it was just another Godot.
I was asked to come back the next day, it was already late and I couldn't return home. I had to stay around. Luckily, I had a sweet friend of mine in the area, I called her, she came around and we did some walking around...
(Lol, just the perfect picture for a walk through the street)
After walking around, we settled down to a local meal of Amala and Gbegiri soup (lol, yummy) I ate some other crazy till I knew constipation wasn't far from me.
Finally, we went to my twin sister's school mother house, we spent the night there... Wow! The night was fillled with so much fun, I had a beautiful time playing with her kid, kyle. We watched movies and talked about life.
Finally, we went to bed, it was a cold night.
Once beaten twice shy, I got up early today, had a breakfast of indomie and egg, the beautiful big sis gave us transport fare, lol and then we found our way to the secretariat. My friend waited outside for me, since she wasn't allowed in.
This time, I was ready to break heads, so I went to complain that the code hadn't changed yet, a man collected my paper and yaga! About 5 minutes later he came with my new state code written on it, I checked my dashboard online and halleluyah, it had changed.
The registration lasted for about three hours. It was tiring.
Finally, we left the secretariat, we ate and it was time for us to part ways.
I got to my town, although I was really tired but I wouldn't forgive myself if I didnt attend my friend's candle procession and requiem mass!
The procession was almost over, I joined then we went in for mass, oh yes, it still hurts and I can't believe my eyes yet.... Ifeanyi!
Mass ended and I almost ran out of church as I was already feeling feverish from all the stress, I got home, ate and jumped on bed...
The sleep was soothing, I woke up feeling better and now I am writing this...
May his soul rest in perfect peace
