ULOG 007- DISSAPOINTMENTS

We have all felt it before, when things don't turn out as planned. Or when someone that you make plans with changes it unilaterally. For me dissapointments lead to anger. It starts from sadness and ends in anger. When I get dissapointed, I'm first of all sad, really sad most times, then I get upset, angry. Angry at everything at that point. I start to think of the other chances or alternative means I would have taken not to get here. So now I'm just angry and overthinking things. 😩
It's bad when you don't have someone to vent to. Worse when the person doesn't understand how you feel and is probably saying things that makes you more angry. I can't begin to explain the importance of having someone who genuinely cares about how you feel, someone who listens to you, someone who gets you, who doesn't judge you for getting angry. If you have someone like this, hold on tight to them cause they are everything. People will do anything for people like that.
When I'm dissapointed and angry, sometimes I just want to vent to someone. Tell them how high my hopes were and the velocity they came crashing down at. I feel it would make me feel better, talking I mean. But then again when the person doesn't seem to get where I'm coming from and doesn't show the signs or react the way I expected them to react to my venting, then comes another dissapointments and the cycle starts all over again.
People say the way to avoid dissapointments is not to have any expectations. But really, is that possible? To live a life without having any expectations. I don't think so. You are always going to have certain expectations. Like for example, you read well for a test, you expect to pass. You do business with someone or you work for someone, you expect to be paid, you make plans to meet up with someone, you expect them to show up. So you see, having expectations are inevitable. Hence, so is dissapointments.
I pray we all just find a way to handle our dissapointments effectively so not to cause greater injury.
