ULOG 1: My Experience as a Cathecist

in #ulog7 years ago (edited)

Hi there Steemians!

This is my very first #ulog. I have seen a lots of ulog here in Steemit, especially from a friend of mine @christianyocte where his ulogs contain interesting topics. So I said to myself last night, "Why wouldn't I make and try this out?" So here it goes...

My Experience as a Cathecist

Every May, it is our summer vacation after school so some of us are at home or some of us are in a vacation or provinces. As for me, since I have no budget to go to places and enjoy the heat of the sun, I decided to do summer teaching or cathecism every month of May and that is the Flores de Mayo cathecism.

Being a cathecist or a teacher is a big challenge for me, especially that I am teaching kids under my age. It tested 3 of my values:

  • Patience. Kids really have small enough of attention span and they really love to play. Some of them just don't listen to your discussion maybe because they do not understand or their thoughts are for playing alone or maybe snacks if there are. Patience is really important when you teach kids.

  • Perseverance. We all know that teaching is quite a challenging one and you really need lots of thoughts and patience to surpass these challenges. Perseverance is one of the important aspects you have to obtain in yourself where you have to strive hard for them to learn and that they may bring all the lessons you taught them.

  • Critical Thinking. Strategies, thinking of deep thoughts for you to control your pupils are very needed. Maybe you have to start with energizers and if they participate well, they will be given a prize. That's how critical thinking is so needed in teaching kids.

Those 3 aspects are used when we teach kids and as a cathecist, I should obtain them.

This is my second year of being a cathecist and it's very challenging. Though there are lots of struggles to surpass, I can really say that I love what I'm doing. The enjoyment, their smiles and laughters are such music to our ears. And when they come back for the next year's cathecism, their feedbacks from school where they applied the lessons I taught them, it is really uplifting.

So these are my students together with the next teachers at the back. We are very few since we only have small population as well.

Conclusion:

I learned a lot from being a young teacher and I can really say that the journey of the teachers who did their best to help us achieve success is very meaningful. They underwent hard challenges, shed tears, feel pain and gave efforts just for us.

So this is my first ulog and this ulog is I also dedicate this to all teachers around the world as a gratitude for sacrificing themselves for us to succeed.

Thank you for stopping by and if you have compliments to say, you can post them down below. I hope you enjoyed my first ulog for today.

Best regards,
