You should have bought two beers and left one for them. It would have broken your will to preserve their lives, but if you had drained half of it and left it on the counter for them, you most likely would have found them inside in the morning.
I think that was one of the first things that shocked my wife about me. I used to catch the things under a mug, slide a piece of paper under the mug, carry the cockroaches outside, release them, and then bring the mug back in my apartment, wash it, and return it to the regular rotation of cups that I used and served to guests.
The last part, more than anything, really grossed her out. After nine years here, I get it now.
haha I do the same thing, using any old cup or mug to do the catching, then just washing it and putting it back into regular rotation. I... still don't really see anything wrong with it.
Any bowl with soap water mixed with vinegar will do the same. Put it near a hole in the wall and you will end up with at least a few dead in there. But again, I hate to kill, so I rarely do that. But you're right—maybe next time I'll drink enough to get over my morals. ;)
I use that line all the time:) Just wash it. That’s why we wash things. If you use soap, things become clean. What’s the big deal? But I’ve heard that Even with soap, it’s still gross retort so many times, part of me believes that too now.
