why??????? I thought SBD were supposed to be $1?
I used to think so, but recent events showed there is really no roof.

It was supposed to be pegged to $1, but it has no mechanism to keep it at that price. It does have a mechanism to prevent it from going under $1 (by letting us convert it to $1 worth of STEEM tokens), but there is nothing to stop it from rising a lot higher. There's also a very limited supply of it, since most people trade it in for Steem.
Hmmmmmmmm, since there currently stopping it from growing? Hope that's a good thing?
Well, it's still at almost $8, so it might even keep on growing in the next days. I really don't see any downsides to this; those of us that blog and comment on the blockchain get paid more if we convert our SBD to STEEM, while those who for some reason wants to have a lot of SBD might end up losing money if it fall. However, for us writers and content creators, it's only good news :)
