Oooh oooh oooh is all i can use to express how deeply i enjoyed hanging out with my long time OB's.
We had taken over 7 years without seeing ourselves, this was a great meetup for us at our former school BUSOGA COLLEGE MWIRI. We had planned to set off at 8am but there was a little bit of delay, so the team set off from kampala at around 10am with only 15 people out of the 28 people supposed to fill a coaster. Many of the people were stationed at places like banda, kireka, bweyogerere where they were picked. I was the last one they picked because i was in mukono. Entering last, i had to say hullo to everyone before i sat down.
not a good one
See how unlucky i was , i sat next to a guy who called me by my name, and surely within the seven years of getting lost i had forgotten his name, so i called him "bro", because i couldnt show him that i had forgotten his name.
the hill
Busoga college mwiri is nicknamed "the hill" because its the school in the highest hill in the whole country. We reached and took pictures at the gate, people were so excited just to get another chance to step on the hill.
The hill has 9 houses, namely nabikamba, hannington, nadiope, willis, wilson, waako, brewer, coates, presidents. so each of us went to their respective former house.
I and my housemates of nabikamba had to take pride in the mansion once again.
Nabikamba was named after a man called nabikamba who used to sound the drum at the hill as a cultural fulfillment, and he was known for calling peolle together with his drum whenever there was information that was to be passed on to the community.
the mwiri leopard
The school budge has a leopard, this is not because of design, but it is because of the leopard that stayed at the hill for a long time and terrorised the village, so people abandoned the hill for it, once it died then a white called brewer and his team thought of putting up a school called busoga college mwiri.
We took a few pictures with the leopard sculpure that was put in place in rememberance of the great fearce leopard, mwiri is looked at as a leopard by all the other schools and is feared for its greatness.
football game between legends and school team
I got a chance to feature on the team of legends that faced the young stars of the school team. Not being fit, the kids actually won us 3-2 with one goal from the man him self.
The match was so intense because the kids did not want to lose to us yet we also had to leave as heroes, they managed to humble us in the last minutes. It was such a wonderfull day that we dint want to leave, even when the games and all the other activities eneded by 7:00, we sat in the coaster for over 30 minutes just to wait for alittle longer before we start the kampala journey.
Not much i can say about that day that will express the eay we all felt.
"Kulwa katonda negwanga lyaffe". (School motto) translated as "for God and our country". Now this is the ugandan motto and its because milton obote the first president of uganda studied from mwiri, so he modified the school motto to the national motto.
Keep up the love fellow steemians.
