WOULD I TRADE MY MOTHER OR MY COUNTRY?

WOULD I TRADE MY MOTHER OR MY COUNTRY...?
My country is a lot like my mother.
She does not care.
She will treat you like
the beneficiary you are to her
And continue to enforce her demands
In your life like the African father she is not.

My mother checks on me
like these checks and balances
That have failed to regulate our arms of government.
Hers is 5 times a day with
Godly forwarded WhatsApp messages and several pieces of advice
Reminding me of sensitization goals
of this country that show
The presence of a little democracy.
Like the people of this country,
she makes noise about matters
whose genesis she does not know
Just so you can hear her voice.

She is not different from our ruling party;
Silent and comfortable
but her anger is a reverse earthquake pulling
nine continents together leaving
Them debating about their fate.

My country has learnt extravagance
from her.
She will afford a watch of 1million,
But forget I need some upkeep...
Just like our beloved ministers that pocket the entire
Country's budget at the expense
of dying facilities and our crippled state of the economy
My mother is ever busy, never free..
As if she is always handling a global crisis😂😂😂😂

Like my country, I do not mess with my mother!
Her stare is like the presence of red top officers
It drains the life out of you even before she actually utters a word or two
And reminds you of your position in life.

I love my mother like I do this country
See she gives hugs
Like she is breathing her last from this world
Her laughter is a world war bullet.
Each time she kisses me
It feels like falling floods
When she smiles, one can see the width of an ocean.
So, if I had to trade my mother or my country,
I would trade them with none for nothing.

This is a great poem and a bit scary!

Her stare is like the presence of red top officers
It drains the life out of you even before she actually utters a word or two

It can also by the way make a great rap song ...i was flowing when i was reading it!!

Our Nigerian singer should make a song out of this,

Then he should not forget to pay for copyrights @tesaganewton

@jarau i bet you can sing even a sentence. Your voice trust me is wanting.. why you even talking about rapping. But thanks for passing by
