Hi steemians,
today I am going to blog about the perspectives that could feature in the cities of tomorrow. To start with, everyone today is embracing technology and as well technology is rapidly growing at the fastest rate with continous improvement in devices, tools, vehicles, health, economics, and more so communication!!
Back in the days when I was still a toddler, I used to see people use different kinds of technology but to my surprise it has all vanished like it had never existed, but mostly improved greatly.
Back in Africa, the structure of cities is still kind of basic and has not yet developed as yet and has not got any congested though there is a constant growing rate in the number of traffic, population and the like.
Below is the capital city of Uganda, the largest and only city in country
With the development of technology today and its capability in transforming the future, I literally see clean street cities filled with flying cars and robots probably doing all the work?
This to me looks to be more of an advanced but better life to live! Or on the contrary, will the stands of living be high hence having an increase in crime in the dark alleys, wars, disease, e.tc. Will the scramble of power be on a rise, will people be obedient enough to their superiors, or will there be no care for the poor and the needy or will the difference between the rich and the poor bring to more peace or will just cause more war and pain???
who knows???
No one knows how the future will be but the prevailling situation is that the urban air spaces are overcrowded and polluted as well.
There should be a plan in every city infrastructure to be able to support, hold and bear the continously ever growing population with which probably will have only electric vehicles to reduce on the rate of pollution such that office workers can be able to open their windows and bicycle sharing schemes to save people from trafic and congestion.
Today, traffic jams are getting wider world wide, queues are getting longer, there more power outages and transport systems are getting more susceptible to delays.
Technology as a solution.
All the answers to these futuristic problems may be solved appropriately with the big data analysis or using data mining techniques with the help of internet of things and internet of value.
The internet of things could provide useful information that could help in development of new phenomena and new services to citizens. The cleverest cities of the future will probably be the ones that will be able to catch or hold themeselves into the internet of things.
Introducing every aspect of the city to the internet of things completely has to adapt with the behavior of the citizens. And unless these systems can become a framework o structure of the people's lives, nothing can probably change.
What should we really do to plan for the future generations???
very true the world is going digital, but i dont think we can have everything solved with technology, sometimes we need to be patient, we can never have a smooth run all the time. many developed countries i know of face jam and actaully most of them opt to leave out private cars to use public means. i call that "humility".
It is a great phenomenon you have there and yeah technology is not the only solution but we are still optimistic about its capabilities and we really have high hopes in it! The largest tech companies are planning on constructing future infrastructures basing on technology.
