Chelsea finished their pre-season campaign at the weekend with a 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany.
I think this is giving an ideal that Lampard's record with the Blues over the summer was four wins, two draws and a defeat from their seven matches.
However at this time, results mean nothing over the course of the summer, but the final preparations for the Manchester United match on Sunday will be getting under way.
It was Lampard's first pre-season with the Blues as he takes his first steps into being the Blues head coach in a big campaign for the club.
While the Blues have looked going forward for much of the summer, i think they still have to look defensively as to suspect at times throughout a lot of the campaign.
Over the course of the seven matches, Lampard's team conceded 11 goals, with eight of them coming the last three matches of the pre-season.
The most worrying thing were the goals conceded from set pieces and there are still question marks ahead of the new campaign getting under way.
The starting centre-back partnership is still up in the air, and defending from corners remains a big issue.
Ross Barkley as a new player had an okay season under Maurizio Sarri, making his big return back from injury in the 2018/19 campaign and getting some opportunities.

However, it became a running joke that he would just be substituted with Mateo Kovacic, and he would often look constricted in his position on the left of midfield.
But in this summer, especially in the past couple of weeks, he has looked a completely different player and has looked like a new signing.
He has looked confident in the number ten role, scoring good goals and providing superb assists. Lampard will be delighted as he battles for a place with Mason Mount in the side.
One of the big positions to make secure over the course of the summer is the striker position, but so far none of the three front men have really claimed the spot.
Tammy Abraham is the likely canddate to be the front man to face Manchester United, but it is not guaranteed that he will get it for the whole campaign.
It is going to be an important start to the season for someone to stake their claim for the position.
The defensive was rotating so I think after few PL games, it will be better. I hope for Zouma to be part of the successful defensive. Abraham will start and then we will see what will happen. The problems with Mount/Barkley and Kovacic/Kanté are good problems for Frank, so they will play at least a part of a game all of them.
