전국적으로 크고작은 피해가 잇따라 발생했다.
이틀간 연이어 내린 비로 광주·전남에 농경지·주택 침수와 시설물 파손 등 피해가 집중됐다.
1일 오전 전남 보성군 회천면 모원제에 있는 둑 127ｍ 중 50ｍ가량이 무너져 인근 농경지 3㏊가 물에 잠겼다.
보성군 명봉역 인근 철로도 침수돼 명봉역∼이양 구간 경전선 열차 운행이 한때 중단돼 승객들이 큰 불편을 겪었다.
이날 오전 8시께 보성군 보성읍 봉산리 한 주택 뒤편 산에서 흘러내려 발목까지 잠긴 토사에 고립된 A(73·여)씨가 119에 의해 구조됐다.
보성읍 덕성마을에서도 주택 침수로 주민들이 고립돼 119가 인명 구조 활동을 벌였고, 인근 아파트 두 곳에서는 지하 주차장이 물에 잠겨 차량 52대가 침수 피해를 봤다. 보성여중 일부 건물과 운동장은 물에 잠겼다.
