First of all I want to thank @thewritersblock for this interesting contest. Here is my story, which I wrote inspired by the beautiful photo that won the previous contest, owned by @lymmerik.
The Magic Theatre
Alexandra spent every day with her father in the car in that old theatre, about which she had been told many stories.... fantastic stories, extraordinary stories of the things that happened at night in that old theatre, apparently abandoned.
She became curious and wanted to unravel that mystery. The next day, Alexandra decidedly spoke with her faithful friend, her classmate Luis, and told him about the things she had been told about that old theater and invited him to go that same night to find out the truth about what was happening there. Luis, listening to Alexandra, was full of enthusiasm and wanted to visit that old theater that looked so abandoned on the outside, but that had been so beautiful in its glory days, as he had heard from his parents. I also wanted to know, like Alexandra, exactly what happened every night in that place.
That same night Alexandra and Luis met and both, with flashlights in their hands, went to the old theater, when they arrived they noticed the leaves on the floor, how abandoned it was and how gloomy the entrance looked. But they got up the nerve....and came in. When they came through that door Oh! Surprise! They found a beautiful theater, lit by many lights and there were many people dressed in antique costumes, enjoying the great beauty of that theater.
Immediately upon entering, a very elegant gentleman dressed in black and very polite approached them and led them to their seats, which were reserved with their names "Alexandra" and "Luis". They sat down and in the center of the stage a beautiful young lady indicated that in a few seconds the magnificent play scheduled for that night would begin. The very excited children said to each other: "What good luck we have, we have arrived in time to see this play from the beginning".
But what was not their surprise when, at the beginning of the play, they were the main actors themselves, they saw themselves on stage! It was something fantastic, wonderful! Hard to understand, but it was real! They were there, in front of them! It was their own lives that were on the scene! Situations that they had already experienced, some joyful, some sad, and everything was part of that wonderful play.
Then Alexandra and Luis looked at each other and asked, "Why are we the stars of that stage?" And immediately a very clear and beautiful voice filled the whole theatre and said to them:
"Alexandra and Luis, this play has been presented especially for you. From the moment we sowed in your hearts the desire to come to our old theatre, we already knew that this day would come and so we prepared ourselves to welcome you as you deserved. With this play in your honor, we want to tell you that you are the protagonists of your own lives. You have already seen several scenes that have lived on this stage tonight, but you are missing many that have not yet lived. Do not be afraid, live, move on, every day is a miracle and behind an old door, like the one in this old theatre, you can find great treasures, which you must value. They're going to laugh, they're going to cry, they're going to fall, but they're going to get up, because that's life, it's like a beautiful play, where what matters is the essence of the human being. You entered this theatre because you had been told fantastic stories of the things that were happening here, but there is nothing more fantastic than your own lives, there is nothing more special, unique and beautiful than that. You will always be the protagonists of your lives".
The two children looked at each other again in admiration and filled with joy as they climbed the stairs of the theatre to the exit, again escorted by the kind and elegant gentleman. They arrived at the theatre entrance and when they turned around to thank the kind gentleman again, all the lights in the theatre were off and, again, that gloomy picture of the entrance was all you could see.
Alexandra and Luis swore they would not tell anyone about their experience that night. But each of them knew very well in their hearts that this beautiful experience had changed their lives forever.
Thank you very much and a thousand blessings to those of you who are kind enough to read this publication.
