Netflix just announced that they are going to be making a live-action version of the amazing anime series Cowboy Bebop. This series was all about a ragtag group of space-traveling bounty hunters aboard their ship the Bebop. Directed by Shinichiro Watanabe and spanning 26 episodes, the series was widely popular, even among non-fans of anime, when it was released in 1998.
The opening sequence for the show was great, thanks to the amazing Japanese composer and musician Yoko Kanno, and her phenomenal band The Seat Belts. She has also composed music for other popular anime franchises like Gundam, Escaflowne, and Macross Plus.
The series draws from many genres, but most heavily from noir and western movies, and is highly character driven, while remaining entertaining and action-packed. It remains to be seen if a live version will be able to capture any of the magic of the original series, but Christopher Yost, who wrote the script for Thor: Ragnarock is set to write for the reboot, so that seems promising!
I'm slightly concerned for this following the whole Death Note live action reboot but I'll try to remain optimistic.
Oh, what happened?
Netflix is having a good amount of good series. I never see this series but i think i need to check it out because i love to see cartoon series if any available on netflix. Namaste.
