THE BUSINESS CASE PROJECT TITLE

here are many ways to organize and present the introduction or opening of a business case document. In general, a business case should include the following components:

TITLE PAGE

The title page contains the title of the business case.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The table of contents makes the business case document easy to use and understand.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The executive summary reports on organizational issues and outcomes of the business case.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission statement concisely describes the aim of the project.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives describe clearly and precisely what the project is expected to deliver.

PURPOSE OF THE BUSINESS CASE

The purpose describes the problem or opportunity that the project will address.

SITUATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND PROBLEM STYATEMENT

The situational assessment and problem statement establishes the benefit to the organization for proceeding with the project.

Decision makers are more likely to view the business case document positively if it is easy to use and understand.

A table of contents is an important organizer for the entire document and makes it easier to find information within. Some readers may not be interested in everything and will want to locate specific information quickly.

The table of contents lists the major headings in the business case and the page on which each is found.

QUESTION

Match each component of the introduction to a business case document with its purpose by dragging the letter associated with each component to the description of its purpose. Use each letter only once.
