Few days ago I met a little girl that carried a basket of freshly baked bread. I was so moved as I noticed the little girl with her tattered old clothes and her worn out sandals.
I called her and in no time she ran across the road with the speed of light. I nearly dropped a tear when I noticed her legs trembling. "How are you doing little girl" I asked her, "I am very fine, thank you aunty" she replied. I wasn't quite convinced that she was, so I asked why her legs were shaking. " aunty I am very hungry and I haven't eaten for a few days now" she said.
I didn't hesitate to wipe the tears that had finally escaped from my eyes. I asked her why she hadn't eaten and it took me no time to know that the little hawker had no parents and money. She helped a lady to sell her bread and was given 50naira each day.
My heart became more broken when I found out that she doesn't attend an academic institution.
I made up my mind to help the little girl with the little I had, knowing that she had very good manners and was extremely intelligent so I took her to an eatery and bought food for her, I bought some clothes for her too.
Although I don't have enough money to enroll her in an academic institution because I am still schooling, I will try to teach her the little I know when next I see her.
I also urge you guys to be very loving and caring to the less privileged ones around you. I decided to share my experience with you because of the joy it gives to see the smile on the faces of the ones you help. Thank you 😊.
Annie Pedro.

That's a sad story. It's hard that even the little ones are already experiencing the effects of poverty.
😥
