RE: My Life's Journey - Finally rebuilding our home with my father after it was ravaged by war.

in #tsufamily7 years ago

Oh what a "story" to read, a first hand account of someone whose life has been affected by stupid war. I read this almost with tears. Tears that you had to endure war as a child, tears that you and your family had to live in exile and tears of joy that a son is so good to his father.

I believe your parents are very lucky to be able to return and get their home back again. I have often wondered if war victims lose their homes for good, especially when having to flee.

I can't imagine the pain for both of your parents, having lost everything in their home as well as coming back to so much damage. You are right, on the flip side, you all survived and material items can eventually be replaced.

I have great admiration for you helping your dad reach his dream. I am sure you are slowly but surely mending his broken heart and he is forever grateful to you and your brothers.

PS- I didn't know you played basketball, best wishes for you and your team to win!! What team are you on?

Thank you, Marie, for such a thoughtful comment. War is a terrible thing, and I don't wish it to anybody. We did go through some tough times, but we all went through it and stayed alive.

The rest we will rebuild eventually. I am just glad I have the opportunity now to do so. There is a lot of work to be done. But slowly, every year we will invest a bit more and hopefully bring it back to a former glory. I will be posting a progress report on how we are doing. :)

I am in the off season now. Last year I played in a beautiful city called Capo d'Orlando, Sicily. It was an amazing experience. You can actually read all about it one of my first posts which have gone over 7 days, but I believe it is well worth the read. Anway, you can be the judge. :)

My wish for you is that this particular post could go viral on here so that you would earn money you need to rebuild. I wish I knew how to make that happen for you! I will post this story on my Facebook account too. Off to read your next story, thank you. Have a great evening.

Thank you for such an amazing wish and all your support. You are a great person. Slowly but steadily I will make it happen one way or the other. I really did not expect so many amazing comments and support while I was writing this. It is so inspirational to read these kinds of amazing comments.

I had a very "colorful" life, and really have some good stories to share. They are all in my head and I need to just get them down on paper. :)

Thank you again, Marie, for all your wonderful comments on my posts. :)
