Appreciate The Truth

in #truth7 years ago

Nowadays people talking about "the truth" become suspicious to us , especially if religious faith or moral matters are a part of the game. It's sad how some people oftentimes twist the truth and use it as a weapon just to control others. I personally came to the conclusion that without real truth, life is meaningless.
You all know Elijah, he was one of the most famous prophets. He dedicated his life in the service of truth. One day, Israel gathered to witness the greatest conflict in the history of the Bible, on the Mount Carmel . Elijah, Lord's prophet by one side, the other side 450 prophets of the Canaanite god Baal.
So one against 450! Despite that, Elijah still had the greatest advantage, the creator of the Universe by his side! He couldn't possibly loose.
Exactly like then, now truth is not really our first option. All those false prophets were saying untrue words that people actually believed and welcomed. Elijah spoke nothing but the truth , and most of them found that offensive and disturbing. What we can clearly see from this story, the truth is never as attractive as the lies. This can bring people at the point of calling the light darkness, and the darkness light , makes us to choose lust over love, greed over kindness, making us the slaves to our passions , and we'll become totally deaf at the truth.
What's left to do when this occurs? PRAY! Pray to be humble and embrace the truth, doesn't matter how disturbing and unpopular it is. Because in the end, it's only the truth that will save us!
