Last Friday President Donald Trump visited my town of Huntsville, AL to campaign for Luther Strange for US Senate (spoiler alert - Strange didn't win!).
Friday morning at 7:30AM I was on my walk with Nina and we passed by the convention center where the President would speak later that day....yes, that's people already waiting in line, 12 hours in advance, to get in. I have no idea why they needed to get there so early - not very many people at this hour!
A friend had gotten me tickets to attend the even later that evening, but I really didn't want to fight the crowds. So Nina and her husband Josh joined me across the park to watch the festivities from afar. Here's convention center right around 7pm when the President begins speaking...
We originally want to sit outside so we can see the protestors and the big screen with Trump speaking, but it was VERY humid, and after riding our bikes down to the park we all wanted to sit inside with the air conditioning. Good food and drinks with friends is not a bad place to be!
After dinner our friend Tony met up with us for a glass of wine on the patio, here we could see/hear the protestors. Thankfully everything was calm and there was no drama!
So I ended up not seeing the President in person, but was still a great evening anyways!
Interesting :)
Wine is always a good ending to any evening, no matter who is in town.
Tony !! Good to see you guys having fun!
