Innovation vs. Copy Cats
In the gaming space the innovators take the lead and defining what the gaming landscape will be for the foreseeable short future, but this isn't the only viable business model to be successful in this space.
The copycat business is proven to be a very effective and efficient way to stay relevant in any space as the innovators have paved the way for what the template is for a 'proven' business model from design to execution. For the copy catters, speed is of the essence for the success of their product. It's always a bigger marketing push to be the 1st copy cat product than the 4th or 5th or 100th. The allure around being the 1st cannot be undermined.
Cryptokitties made headlines a month ago with their cute lovable cats and utilizing blockchain technology to drive supply and demand. This game design was a first of its kind and it was only a matter of time when another one of its kind will appear.
Look no further as the CEO of Tron (TRX) has just tweeted that a cryptokitties clone will be coming to the Tron blockchain.
What is Tron?
China's ability to clone products.
China is very well known for their ability to copy and publish games at a very high quality and its not rare to see cryptokitties being cloned with a month after its boom. When i used to work in China, this was about the time Clash of Clans was popular and i knew about 100 game development companies already working on a clone of this hit game 3 months after its release.
